What is the HCG Diet?
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone excreted during the development of an embryo or fetus detected in the urine upon fertilization.
The HCG diet is one that has been scientifically structured to ensure results for those experiencing obesity. This is something that is a commitment between the patient and doctor and is very closely monitored to produce proper results, which is a pound of fat loss per day, from the fat that has been out of reach from the normal grip of the metabolism.
A normal course would consist of 125 I.U. of HCG daily up to 40 injections, exceptions being during menstruation. The best time to begin treatment is just after a period. Force-feeding is required up to the third injection to prepare the body with adequate storage of fats, preventing depletion of essential structural reserve fats so that the toxic fat that has been locked away can be accessed efficiently.
A 500 calorie diet begins after the third injection and is continued until 3 days after the last injection. After the injections end all foods are allowed except sugar and starches for 3 weeks. Upon which one can begin adding starches back into the diet in small amounts. Every morning upon arising one is to weight them selves to help maintain and manage the weight that was lost. Dr. Jospeh Sciabbarrasi is a specialist in the HCG Diet and can explain to you what the HCG Diet is and how it can help you achieve your weight loss goals.
What do you eat on the HCG Diet?
Breakfast is nothing more than coffee or tea with 1 tablespoon of milk and no sugar. Lunch consists of a lean protein either 100 grams of chicken breast, fresh white fish, shrimp, crab, beef or veal. It is important not to eat tuna, eel, herring, salmon or dried or pickled fish on this diet. A vegetable is to be consumed, but only one type at a sitting. Choosing from the following list: cucumbers, asparagus, fennel tomatoes, green salad, chard, chicory, beet greens, celery, onions, cabbage, red radishes. A bread stick is allowed or melba toast with the meal or between the meal. An apple, ½ grapefruit, handful of strawberries or an orange can also be eaten with a meal or between meals. Dinner is any variation of the choices from lunch.
Adequate water (about 2 Liters) is required each day along with the juice of one lemon. Tea, coffee and mineral water are also allowed in any quantities. It is an option to eat the bread stick or the fruit between meals. There are options for extra apples to be eaten or meals that are skipped to ensure proper results or to help one get back on track who wasn’t able to keep the diet due to travel, business meals, absent minded eating or a food craving.
How the HCG Diet can help you lose weight
The human chorionic gonadotropin is extracted from the urine of a pregnant woman and prepared into a powder then a solution is prepared for injection. Pregnant women are the only humans that have this hormone naturally occurring within their body. During pregnancy it provides the fetus with blood that is continually saturated with food.
People experiencing obesity benefit from injections of HCG because it allows them to have blood that is consistently saturated with food giving a sense of satisfaction and fullness when consuming only 500 calories a day. This allows the body to pull from the accumulation of fat that has been deposited in areas that have been in lock down from the body to use for fuel.
This diet helps the body pull from those areas where the fat has been locked away and opens up the door for this fat to be released and used as fuel. Before the body during a regular diet would pull from important structural fats leaving an obese person looking gaunt, but still with tons of fat around the middle. As well as very exhausted, because literally they starve themselves trying to get rid of the excess fat that isn’t even being accessed. This diet allows people experiencing obesity to prepare the body by first force-feeding with specific high fat foods to ensure adequate fat reserves so the body is directed to the toxic fat that has been locked away from regular metabolism instead of the essential structural fats.
HCG and Obesity
Between the late 1950s, when first introduced by Dr. Simeons, and 1976, when the FDA and Federal Trade Commission took steps against HCG injections, HCG injections were the most popular method of obesity control in America. Dr. Simeons claimed that the drugs allowed people to live on as few as 500 calories a day, and that the drugs distributed stored fat and helped the body to metabolize fat.
Due to lack of proven results and the government action, HCG injections lost popularity until they were revived in 2007 by an infomercial and book by Kevin Trudeau claiming that HCG injections were the cure to obesity and that the American Medical Association, FDA and other medical groups were part of a conspiracy to suppress the truth.
